Once part of Kingston, Sandown was incorporated as a separate town in 1756 by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth. It was named after picturesque Sandown on the Isle of Wight of England. Current population is approximately 6000. Sandown residents enjoy country living with easy access to shopping and urban areas. Sandown is convenient to Routes 124. 28, and 111 and about a 25 minute drive from either I-495 or I-93.
Sandown students attend Sandown North Elementary School or Timberlane Regional Middle and High Schools located in Plaistow.
