Fremont, once home to the largest brickyard in the state and one of the oldest operating wooden barrel manufacturers in the country evolved from a mill town to a bedroom community.
Fremont is located 17 miles from the Atlantic Ocean; 10 miles from the New Hampshire- Massachusetts border; 24 miles from Concord, New Hampshire; and 16 miles from Manchester New Hampshire. The town's Principal Rivers, Lakes & Ponds include the Exeter River, Piscassic River, Loon Pond, and Spruce Swamp. Fremont is noted for an unspoiled meetinghouse, built in 1800, and today listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
